Trump receives UAE's highest civilian honour
Order of Zayed symbolises mutual diplomatic and economic partnership
ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred the Order of Zayed, the United Arab Emirates’ highest civilian decoration, on US President Donald Trump yesterday.
The prestigious honour is reserved for heads of state and recognises Trump’s efforts in advancing strategic cooperation between the UAE and the United States.
The award reflects the Emirates’ appreciation of the long-standing ties between Abu Dhabi and Washington and acknowledges Trump’s contributions to reinforcing bilateral relations across multiple domains.
Order of Zayed for Trump
In a statement during the ceremony, His Highness noted: “By awarding the Order of Zayed to President Donald Trump, we express our appreciation for his efforts to strengthen the ties that unite the UAE and US while underscoring our shared commitment to further expanding cooperation.”
The Order of Zayed, named after the UAE’s founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, is a symbol of exceptional diplomatic recognition. This honour follows a period of intensified collaboration between both nations, marked by joint initiatives in defence, trade, and innovation.
